To spread the gospel to the world in this generation
To train medical missionaries for a life of wholehearted service to God.
The purpose of Matteson Mission School is to train and qualify people to become full time missionaries.
Thus the school is committed to giving young people a profound experience, providing them with the motivation, knowledge, skills and practice necessary to choose a life of surrender to God and active soul winning.
It is our goal that our graduates become resources for existing ministries or instrumental in starting new ones supporting the Seventh-day Adventist Church, preparing people for Christ’s imminent return.
our core values - defining our foundation
developing individuality and courage to stand for truth and conviction
Encouraging careful examination and independent thinking we facilitate learning and practical application. Thus we seek to educate for the forming of habits of sound decision-making and for the development of Christian integrity.
keeping straight on a path surrounded by ditches
Realizing the danger of being lured by sensationalism and of falling into extremes in views and practises, we emphasize maintaining a healthy attitude in all questions. Rather than educating one-sided “experts”, we aim at sending forth balanced, well-rooted Christians that have adopted long-lasting values.
letting relationship rather than rules be the motivating factor
The family spirit at Matteson secures a sense of belonging and responsibility. Without having a set of written rules, the school home fellowship functions on the basis of a shared wish to reflect the heavenly atmosphere.
building a biblical foundation for life
In belief, attitude and lifestyle we seek to represent Christ and His Church in an attractive way. We wish to invite all to experience the privilege of being part of one united body, and to take hold of its mission.
establishing stable and viable faith as well as organisation
Acknowledging that growing and giving are essential for life, we want generosity to characterize thriving individuals and developing work. Reaching for the Excellency of Heaven, yet realizing the necessity of being down to earth, we are committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to carry out the great commission through our service.
Matteson Logo - explaining the symbolism
We have chosen the sycamore seed as our logo because it is dynamic and a symbol of growth and reproduction. It flies away from the mother tree and in turn will start a new tree. Our mission has been clearly communicated to us in the Bible, and it is to reach out to the whole world with the gospel. We have chosen to make this ambitious goal ours.
words of inspiration - truth which guides
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14
The Lord calls upon our young people to enter our schools and quickly fit themselves for service. In various places outside of cities, schools are to be established where our youth can receive an education that will prepare them to go forth to do evangelical work and medical missionary work.
9 Testimonies 170
With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world!
Education 271
True education is missionary training. Every son and daughter of God is called to be a missionary; we are called to the service of God and our fellow men; and to fit us for this service should be the object of our education.
Ministry of Healing 395
The work of God in this earth can never be finished until the men and women comprising our church membership rally to the work and unite their efforts with those of ministers and church officers.
9 Testimonies 117
Higher than the highest human thought can reach is God’s ideal for His children.
